留学新生对于Essay写作的理解

对于初到英国的留学生来说，写essay不用过度追求创新，最重要的事情是不要犯错。因为essay不够新颖的后果只是没有高分，但出现错误很可能就意味着不合格。留学新生应该做的是熟悉essay写作方法与写作结构，打好基础以后才考虑高分问题。当然，如果你英语基础优秀，且对essay代写比较了解，也可以直接进入抢分阶段噢。本文主要是为英国留学新生介绍essay的写作方法与文章结构。

一、Essay写作方法

1.读与写同时进行

绝对不可以：先把reading都读完，然后再写。这完全是错误的操作。因为essay不是总结概括，你是需要在读材料的时候，同时思考，并形成自己的观点。正确写作方法：reading and writing，读与写同时进行。不要担心自己一开始写的是a piece of shit。因为所有人一开始写的东西都是，但是最终为什么可以拿好成绩，其实重点就在于不断的修改。

2.引用方法

具体引用方法，每个大学每个学院都不一样。只要一步步，参考自己专业标准，这里就不详细说啦。

绝对不可以为了凑引用数量，自己胡编乱造一句，然后随便安给一个作者，但这样做的结局就是fail。

老师给的评语是：这个作者所有的作品，我都读过，他从来没说过这种话，你当我傻？

3.如何检查

这里说的检查，不是查有没有错别字或者是语法错误（毕竟有了拼写检查），是再一步审自己有没有答题，并审查自己的逻辑有没有错误。

这里可以建议同学们一起开团，互相讨论论证思路，甚至请外专业的同学听一下，这样论证，一个完全不懂的人，能不能听懂。如果可以，那么你就成功了。

二、Essay常用结构

遵循fishbone structure。

Introduction：

The introduction moves from general to specific.

·open with a short orientation(introduce the topic area(s)with a general,broad,opening sentence).

·answer the topic question with a thesis statement.

·provide a summary or"road map"of your essay(keep it brief,but mention all the main ideas).

Main body：

The body of your essay consists of paragraphs.Each is a building block in the construction of your argument.

The body is where you:

·answer the question by developing a discussion.

·show your knowledge and grasp of material you have read.

·offer exposition and evidence to develop your argument.

·use relevant examples and authoritative quotes.

If your question has more than one part,structure the body into sections that deal with each part of the question.

Conclusion：

The conclusion moves from specific to general.It should:

·restate your answer to the topic question;

·re-summarise the main points and

·include a final,broad statement(about possible implications,limits of this essay,future directions for research).
